Health Services Waste (RSS) represents a small share of waste generated in Brazil. However, they need a different management because of the risk potential they have for health and the environment. As a result, each generating establishment is required to implement a Health Services Waste Management Plan (PGRSS). In this context, the PGRSS was analyzed in a hospital in the city of Ponta Grossa, Paraná, with the purpose of analyzing its implementation and discussing the importance of occupational safety standards. The research was carried out through site visits, bibliographic searches and consultations with the PGRSS. During the visits, the procedures were observed at all stages of management and some inconsistencies were noted. It was proposed to prepare a manual with the objective of guiding how to proceed to the management of RSS. Therefore, it is conclusive for this research the importance of the adequate implantation of a PGRSS for any health care establishment. |
