The objective of this article is to present some irregularities in an old building that does not comply with the Panic and Fire Safety standards and adopt improvements in this aspect according the current legislation of Paraná that came into force in 2012 The building is located in the central area of Ponta Grossa city, Paraná. This edifice was inaugurated in 1965. In a technical visit requested by some condominium residents, they reported the concern in case of a fire or a panic situation, how they could safely leave the building. Currently the central staircase of the building does not evacuate the inhabitants to the outside in a safe way. This ladder should be emergency, but there is no fire-resistant element on the perimeter of the staircase and fire-fired doors. The building has fire extinguishers and hydrants to combat a fire principle, but does not provide conditions for abandonment of the inhabitants, which is the most precious possession in the building. |
