This study aimed to identify, according to the literature, the competences required for the establishment of sustainable development practices in organizations through a review of the conceptions of competence focused on sustainability. It addresses the key sustainability concepts and competencies. It seeks to relate the concepts of existing competencies and how they can assist in the transition to this new reality - sustainability, reflecting the dimensions of sustainable development into practical actions for companies. Based discussion on the relationship between the competencies of each organization, based on resource-based view, and the guidelines of the dimensions of sustainable development in organizations. Regarding the methodology, the approach appears as a qualitative, exploratory, and in relation to technical procedures is characterized as a literature search. In this scenario, where there is a need of society for sustainable use of resources, it becomes essential to identify the skills required for the implementation of sustainability as a way to achieve competitive advantage for companies. Thus, by identifying the organizational skills, managers can analyze the possible opportunities to reach new markets or develop new products or services, for business growth based on the dimensions of sustainability. |
