Resumo: This study aimed to look at the literature, the characterization of the civil construction industry, as well as those who work in it, to be able to weigh the factors present in this sector directly or indirectly affecting the quality of life of the worker. The research showed that despite advances in technological and innovation with regard to material, the worker is still characterized as cheap labor and little instructed. Among the factors affecting the quality of life of workers are, low pay, seasonal and exhausting work, in addition to environmental factors that can be controlled or not. Among those that can be controlled are noise and vibration arising mainly from tools used in labor pratice, which can affect the whole body of the worker making it prone to injury and occupational diseases, what this area means temporary or permanent removal, causing damage not only the health of it, but also reduces the company's profit.
