The circumstances that occurred in the work environment of university teachers-managers have reflected directly on the physical and cognitive functions, leading to implications for health and quality of life at work (QWL). In this sense, the objective of this study was to evaluate the level of stress and QLW of teaching managers of the campuses of the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR), located in theSouthwest Region, Dois Vizinhos, Francisco Beltrão and Pato Branco. The methodology consisted of the application of the instruments: Sociodemographic Questionnaire, Lipp's Stress Symptoms Inventory for Adults (ISSL) and the Total Quality of Work Life (TQWL-42). The sample consisted of 33 teacher-managers who perform activities as General Director, Director of Undergraduate and Professional Education, Director of Research and Graduate Studies, Director of Business and Community Relations and Coordinators ofUndergraduate and Graduate Courses in the referred campuses. Descriptive statistical analyzes, associations between characters and logistic regression were performed. The results show that 45.50% of the participants presented clinical manifestations of stress, among which 73,30% were in the resistance phase. Regarding the symptoms of stress, it was found that 40,00% had physical symptoms and 60,00% psychological symptoms. As for the level of classification of QWL, it was observed that, in general, the participants are satisfied. However, there is a need for improvements in personal and professional aspects, such as: Rest time, Self-esteem, Physical and mental disposition, Interpersonal relationships, Leisure time, Variety of tasks, Job security and Health and social assistance services. The association of quantitative variables with the stress concept variable shows very weak levels of correlation, considering the significance level of p = 0.05. Regarding the results of the logistic regression, it appears that teacher-managers with lowsatisfaction in the Biological and Physiological Sphere are 15.099 times more likely to experience stress. Also, with the increase in the teaching year, it is observed that the possibility for the teacher-manager to present negative stress increases by 1.184 times. Thus, the need for attention and care to this portion of teacher-managers is highlighted, in order to develop strategies to face the difficulties of the profession and, therefore, improve the health and well-being of these professionals. |
