Resumo: This work aims to perform an exergoeconomic analysis through the methodology proposed by BEJAN; TSATSARONIS; MORAN, 1996 in a 24 MW thermoelectric powerplant operating under a biomass-powered Rankine cycle. From the analysis, cost estimates weremade for each of the equipment to determine the unit costs of exergy for each flow. The equipment with the greatest destruc- tion of exergy was identified, its efficiencies and thermodynamic behavior. The economic viability of the plant was analyzed, where the cost of power generation was 148.14 R$/MWh and the payback period was 9.66 years. The mathematical modeling of the system was developed in the Engineering Equation Solver (EES) – Academic Version software.
