Waveform generators are very useful equipment in the Electronic Engineering. They are generally used for didactic, test or simulation purposes of the functioning of an electric circuit, through the generation of sinusoidal, triangular and rectangular waves. In this context, the arbitrary waveform generators (AWGs) are a kind of equipment that allows the user to customize almost the total output signal. Based on these coricepts, the proposal of this project is the development and implementation of an AWG, using the direct digital synthesis (DDS) technique. To do this, a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) will be employed, as the main component of the system, which connmunicates with an interface on a computer where the user can edit the desired waves. |
