The construction industry has a significant impact on the environment, being intensively extractive and a large waste generator. These reach more than half of the total mass of solid waste generated in a city (PINTO, 1999), so the concept of sustainability for this sector is crucial for the future of society. This concern is reflected in Resolution n. 307 of CONAMA, which guides the management of Construction & Demoliton Waste (CDW). Supported by the National Solid Waste Policy, Law n. 12.305 of 2010, the option of recycling waste for new uses is one of the solutions. The present study aims to verify the economic feasibility of setting up a recycling plant for civil construction waste in the city of Ibitinga-SP. In order to do so, a review of the literature on the chain of management of CDW was carried out, in order to elaborate an economic projection for the proposed business model. In the quantitative analysis, deterministic methods were used for the reasoning on the cash flow model projected from the plant operation, applying financial metrics such as NPV, IRR and payback. The proposed enterprise proved feasible from the point of view of the indicators, bringing internal discount rate values of 12.43%, returning the capital invested in 11 years, on the management model in which a fee is charged when receiving the material to be processed and the sale of the recycled aggregate produced. In the risk assessment, a method was used to sensitize model variables to find project NPV inflections, as well as to analyze alternative scenarios for revenue sources, expanding the options to make the project economically viable. |
