The use of a water pumps in lifting stations consumes electric power to carry out the water to superior levels. In order to evaluate the consumption of this equipment, there were created some indexes capable of measuring and classifying the energy efficiency of a pump. One of the most recently created indexes is the Green Pump Index (GPX), which allows the classification of a water pump into an efficiency table created for it. This work sought to analyze different situations for lift stations in building installations, seeking to determine the efficiency obtained in this type of application. The tests carried out involved buildings of different heights and pumps with different characteristics. In large part of the obtained results, it was concluded that the energy efficiency of the pumps in buildings is below of what is recommended, when only one pump was used. However, the use of pumps in series has proved an interesting alternative for buildings which demand for water and static height allow their use with high efficiency. |
