Resumo: Polymeric materials are currently used in about 95% of the Brazilian industry, and the search for better performance of these materials has been the subject of study for some time. The incorporation os reinforcements in polymers is one of the main ways to achieve better properties in their applications. This study aimed to incorporate sisal fibers in a HDPE matrix and evaluate the mechanical properties of the composite obtained. Composites were obtained with 5% and 10% sisal fibers in weight via extrusion and injection, the mechanical properties were evaluated through tensile and impact tests, which showed an increase in the elasticity module and the characterization of the materials was carried out through thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).
