Resumo: This dissertation aims to reflect on the poetic recreation of Haroldo de Campos, especially in his translation / reimagination of the biblical book Ecclesiastes, in the version he translated directly from the Hebrew and, in his update with a view to a dialogue with modern man, in a retrospective synchronous rereading. The book, within the translation proposal in an approach based on theoreticians of modern poetry, will be seen taking into account the role of the Bible as a source of literature, the development of hermeneutics and its importance in the history of interpretation, as well as the possible dialogue of the new Qohélet, as it appears in modernity, and the new man who emerged from the perspective of modern thinkers. In this framework of study related to this literary phenomenon and with the aim of offering notions of various aspects of literary criticism, theorists Terry Eagleton, Erich Auerbach, Northrop Frye, Roland Barthes and Ezra Pound will be considered in relation to the dialogue between the book and poetry Modern. With regard to reading as an update of literary history, the perspective of aesthetics of Hans Robert Jauss’s reception and the theory of effect by Wolfgang Iser are used. For the discussion of translations, the concepts of Rosemary Arrojo and Jacques Derrida. The final analysis takes as a base the main influencers of the modern worldview and the relationships that the poet Haroldo de Campos makes in his theoretical considerations regarding his translations / recreations of books or poetic chapters of the Bible, through the observation of the three main poems of work, thus delimiting the space for reflection. The poetic texts studied in the last chapter are based on three categories: the poetic theme developed, the philosophical “hook” that updates the text’s view and the dialogical approach with modern man. The methodology used will be qualitative and bibliographic. It is expected to serve as a subsidy and contribution to the issues that permeate the theme, raising new discussions and studies.
