The brigade members function demands adequate levels of physical activity (PA) for the good performance of the function, as well as the positive perception of quality of life (PQV) is also an important factor for the better performance of the tasks of any individual. Different AF levels may influence PQV. The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between PA and PQV. Eighty-two brigade members, men and women, from three industries in Curitiba and the region were invited to participate voluntarily, of which 55 accepted and met the inclusion criteria. To measure the level of PA in transportation and leisure, the IPAQ questionnaire was applied. To raise the PQV were used the domains: perception of lifestyle and health; and quality of life of the QSV-80 questionnaire, as well as sociodemographic data. Data were tabulated in Excel spreadsheet and exported for analysis in SPSS version 20.0 software. The significance level adopted was p≤0.05. Data are presented according to the measurement scale by mean, standard deviation, absolute and relative frequency. The association between PQV (quality of life, lifestyle and health) and PA (transport and leisure) was assessed using Pearson’s chi-square test. Participants were predominantly male (74.5%), married (63.91%), overweight / obese (61.8%). The proportion of those sufficiently active in transportation was 38.2% and in leisure 41.8%. They had a high perception in the lifestyle and health domain 38.2% and in the quality of life domain 32.7%. PA in leisure (p = 0.016) and in transport (p = 0.005) was associated with the QSV-80 quality of life domain. No association was observed between the lifestyle and health domain and transport and / or leisure PA. There was an association between transport and leisure PA with the quality of life domain, but not with the lifestyle domain. It may be that the issues that make up this domain capture PQV better than the lifestyle domain. There is a higher proportion of individuals with high PQV among those who meet sufficient PA criteria in transportation and leisure. The results suggest that meeting the minimum PA recommendations for transport and leisure health may be related to the best PQV. |
