Literature has always been used as a source for the production of stories in different media. Cinema, for example, seeks inspiration in novels from its beginning. Critics, however, have the habit of judging audiovisual adaptation as inferior to the literary work, in a hierarchical dualism that devalues the “copy” and confers an untouchable aura on the “original”. Meanwhile, there are authors of Adaptation Theories, Narratology and Intertextuality, such as Anelise Reich Corseuil, Claus Clüver and Robert Stam, who propose a more inclusive and horizontal view of adaptations. These analyzes, combined with communication studies and online narrative studies, contribute to the understanding of Instagram Stories’ narrative potential. Este trabalho visa explorar as potencialidades da ferramenta Instagram Stories para o desenvolvimento de narrativas adaptadas de textos literários, tendo como objeto de estudo o projeto The girl with the Instagram, que adapta o diário de Eva Heyman, escrito na Hungria em 1944, partindo da especulação de como seria se a garota tivesse um smartphone e compartilhasse sua vida durante a guerra por meio de seu perfil no Instagram. Literatura sempre foi usada como matéria-prima para a produção de histórias em diferentes mídias. O cinema, por exemplo, busca inspiração em romances desde o seu surgimento. A crítica, porém, tem por hábito fazer juízos de valor que colocam a adaptação audiovisual como inferior à obra literária, em um dualismo hierárquico que desvaloriza a “cópia” e confere uma aura intocável ao “original”. No sentido oposto dessa visão, há estudiosos de Teorias da Adaptação, Narratologia e Intertextualidade, como Anelise Reich Corseuil, Claus Clüver e Robert Stam, que propõem uma visão mais inclusiva e horizontal das adaptações.
