In the present work, the analysis and modification of a pneumatic actuator system for injection of additives and fuel markers was performed. In this analysis, we identified the main problems that occur in the injection of additives with the previously installed system, and this system had several failures during loading of tank. The main focus is on reducing “Additive Failure”, which are problems that occur during the loading procedure of tankers that require injection of these by-products. Using a system with pneumatic actuators were made changes of the injection system, checking from reports and history of faults generated by the control computer, the new system provided significant reductions of faults and problems, improvements in operational safety, automation and optimization of the fuel loading system. |
