Resumo: The development of cities generates major environmental impacts, among them, civil construction is responsible for generating a significant amount of solid waste annually. So, public and private agencies will give priority to a concern about the life cycle of the calculated materials and the impact generated by this waste. In this way, the solid residues from the building rehabilitation activity that has an expressive importance in European cities, is the target of the present case study. The research focused on putting into practice practical to manage the solid residues in a construction site in the city of Villeneuve-la-Garenne in France, as an application was used the situational strategic planning, from that, if developed in the planning phase of Quality and Environment Plan, the importance of characterizing waste for a correct sorting and consequent management efficiency can be highlighted as a result. In addition, an economic analysis of the phases of transport and treatment of waste was carried out without qualifying expenditures a total of R$ 156.892, a value that was possible to reduce due to the strategies used in the management of this waste, thus obtaining a final value of R$ 81.345,83. Based on these previous studies, it was possible to create the Maintenance and Environmental Education Plan, with the main result of changing the culture of workers verified over time. Consequently, building rehabilitation generates high costs in management, since the treatment of industrial waste is more expensive when compared with the values of inert materials, for example. Finally, it was possible to demonstrate through this study that those used in the management of rehabilitation waste can provide elements in this study area.
