Resumo: In this work a comparative study was carried out between the results of the short-term deflection of a simply supported beam, obtained through calculations of different simplified methodologies. The simplified methods studied were NBR 6118, ACI 318, Eurocode 2 and Bilinear Method. The calculations were compared to an deflection value obtained experimentally by Deghenhard et al (2016). The results obtained presented the credibility of the simplified methodologies and that the method that most approached the experimental values was the Bilinear Method, recommended by CEB in the "Design Manual on Cracking and Deformation". In addition, a brief study was made to clarify the bending moment to be used in the equation of equivalent stiffness, adopted by NBR 6118, in the calculation of deflections of continuous beams. Among the results, it was clarified that the maximum positive bending moment is the one used in calculations of equivalent stiffness of cracked continuous beams. It was concluded that the methodologies available for the simplified realization of the short-term deflection calculations confidently portray the behavior of the structural elements.
