Resumo: The environmental impacts caused by the construction activity are a reality, since the sector is responsible for the consumption of a significant portion of natural resources and for the generation of solid waste. With the objective of minimizing the environmental impacts associated with construction waste (RCC), the National Environment Council (CONAMA) established resolution no. 307 in the year 2002, which defines, among others, procedures for the management of RCC. The recycling of waste is considered as an environmentally adequate alternative for the destination of RCC. The present work aimed to present an analysis of the recycling of construction waste in Brazil, from the perspective of companies in the sector. For the survey of the companies object of this study were used data available on the website of the Association of Residues of Civil Construction and Demolition - ABRECON. For the collection of information a questionnaire was prepared, which was made available via e-mail to the respective companies, and had as purpose, among others, to identify the motivations for the opening of the business, main customers, the way of applying the aggregates and difficulties faced by industry. It was evidenced that the possibility of having and offering an environmentally adequate way to dispose of waste and a profitable business opportunity were the main motivations for investment in the segment; that customers range from small consumers to the public sector; that the materials are used in works without structural and paving function, as base and sub-base; and that the lack of segregation by the generator is one of the greatest difficulties encountered by the companies, to burden the operation and affect the quality of the final product.
