The BIM system has emerged in recent years as a major innovation in the architecture, engineering and construction industry. Through it, a new way of designing, developing, planning and executing projects has been created. The objective of this work is to present what BIM technology is and how it can aid the process of budgeting civil constructions. In order to do so, a bibliographical review was carried out in books and manuals for the development of BIM projects, for then, to expose concepts and definitions necessary for a better understanding of the BIM system, besides presenting some parameters necessary for a suitable 3D modeling. Issues such as failures in the budgeting process by the traditional method were also addressed. Finally, a project of a building was executed with the development requirements presented previously in the work. Such a construction, as had already been developed through the traditional method, then a comparison was made between the BIM method and the traditional methodology of budgeting works, in order to prove some notable differences in the quantitative of some items of the project. |
