Resumo: This study presents an analysis of the influence of the variation of rigidity of the beam-column connection on reinforced concrete buildings, with emphasis on the characteristics most affected by these variations, such as horizontal shift, stability and strain distribution. It discusses concepts of the construction material, of the parameters suggested by the ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Regulations) for stability evaluation, of the structural component´s rigidity and of the construction elements used in this work. Based on the structural project of a ten stories building, it analyses how the flexibilization of the beam-column connection affects adjacent structural elements, as well as the behavior of the structure as a whole. As a result, it evaluates the data obtained for the Gama-Z coefficient (as a parameter to measure structural stability), for the horizontal shifting at the top of the building and for the variation of bending moments transferred between beam and column.
