Resumo: Laboratory tests conventionally applied to determine blood typing can represent a barrier to patients with reduced accessibility and in emergency situations. Aiming to expand access to a simple and quick laboratory test for the identification of ABO and Rh systems, we propose the development of a test in a Vertical Flow format, based on the treatment of layers of membranes responsible for blood capture, with a colorimetric response showing presence or absence of reaction. The prototype showed satisfactory results when tested on known samples and viable for commercial scale production, with consequent facilitation of access to this laboratory exam for populations in emergency and with reduced mobility.
