Resumo: With the principles of designing and the verifications found in the Brazilian standard ABNT NBR6118:2014, the present paper has had the aim of the development of a computational tool, through the Microsoft Excel, that helps students to pre-design and verify the safety of reinforced solid concrete slabs. The solid slab is considered an element of plaques composed of concrete and steel. Its variations of materials, geometries, loads as well as other parameters make its methods of calculation difficult and little practical. In this way, the development of the Slab design software shows itself an useful tool as long as it automates the calculations’ script of both: design and verification, making it practical and didactic for the students.
