Resumo: To calculate the dose in electrotherapy, a correction coefficient related to the protection block is used, referring to the field size and the beam energy, called the factor output, which is determined for each block to be used. Thus, in this work, the output factor for several fields was determined through the use of the ionization chamber and method of sectorial integration. 28 protection blocks were made and another 3 reference blocks made available at the clinic were used. The measurements were performed on a TrueBeam linear accelerator with beams of 6, 9 and 12 MeV for the 6x6, 10x10 and 10x6 cm² cones. Ionization measurements were carried out in a water phantom for the input of the output factor by means of a ratio between the readings of each block in relation to those of the reference block. The factor was also grouped using the sectoral integration method applying a polynomial function, which presents a division of the block in 16 evenly spaced rays and presents an average of the output of each ray. The results obtained with the ionization chamber and the method of sectorial integration are compatible, with a relative difference of ± 3%. As the results with the ionization chamber and the sectorial integration method are within the tolerance limits of the dosimetry protocol recommendations, it is possible to use both methods in the clinical routine. Thus, it is concluded that it is possible to determine the use of the ionization chamber and the method of sectorial integration as an efficient technique to produce the output factor to be processed as a correction factor in the calculation of monitor units in electron therapy.
