Resumo: Currently there is a great demand for integrated production processes, information in real time, obtaining information in a quick and practical way, allowing for increased traceability. In an axis machining process, the issue of traceability is a major challenge, considering the factors that exist in the product, for example, oil, very alloy material, and it cannot have markings on the shaft body só as not to change its functional structure. With this, this work aims behind a case study, to present the stages of machining an axis and to present information for the construction of a traceability process. A well-defined process of traceability demonstrates how much the company is organized and dominates its processes, only this way it is possible to have this information organized quickly and also important to note that this whole process cannot increase the cost of the final product, making it unfeasible. Competitiveness in the market. The traceability of a product goes far beyond the information that is registered in the company’s control system and before this stage, it is necessary to adapt the physical processes. This work will present alternatives, strengths and weaknesses and, where possible, identify the costs involved. After this study, it will be defined which alternative is most suitable for the process under study.
