Resumo: Using the concepts of transmedia storytelling, this research intends to study the works The Duncan Trussell Family Hour (podcast) and The Midnight Gospel (animation) and analyze the transmediatic relation built between them. An analysis regarding the transmediatic expansion process will be made considering the podcast audio edition and its juxtaposition against the visual narratives in order to create the animation. Such study is extremely relevant in an era marked by artistic capitalism and the convergence of the communication media. Transmidiality presents itself as a fundamental condition for the survival of an artwork through its economic success. The chosen methodology is exploratory, based on bibliographic research and interpretative analysis. Authors such as Henry Jenkins, Marsha Kinder and Vicente Gosciola will be used to define the concept of transmedia and its possibilities. The transmediatic structure will be analyzed through a rhizomatic perspective receiving the contribution of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guatarri. The production models of The Duncan Trussell Family Hour and The Midnight Gospel will be studied considering its intrinsic influence in the narrative possibilities and in order to do só authors that criticize consumerism such as Gilles Lipovetsky, Chul-Byung Han and Anna Kèrchy will be used. The specific language of each medium will also be analyzed. The Duncan Trussell Family Hour will be studied using the perspective of Jessica Abel’s writings on podcast theory. Using Eisenstein’s comprehension of the creation of meaning through conflicting shots, the new ideas created by The Midnight Gospel will be studied through the dialogue between the sound universe and the visual universe creating parallel narratives. The symbolic universe present in the animation and the podcast will be analyzed through the writings of Mircea Eliade, Joseph Campbell, Jean Chevalier and Alain Gheerbrant.
