The traditional system consists of three PV panels associated in series and connected to the Boost DC-DC converter. The Perturb & Observe (P&O) algorithm is used to perform the maximum power point search (MPP). On the other hand, traditional systems can be influenced by partial shading when a nonuniform solar irradiation occurs on the PV array, so it is compared to a multi-string system, which consists of three DC-DC Boost converters, Where each inverter has a single PV panel connected to its input, and the output of the inverters are connected in series and connected to a DC bus. In the multi-string system two different MPP (MPPT) traces were used, the first one is called a simple variable distributed (SV-P&O), which uses the P&O algorithm for each upconverter, which operates verifying the variation Of power of each PV panel, necessitating the reading of the voltage and output current of each panel, that is, a total of six sensors are required. On the other hand, the second methodology called multivariate granular control (MV-P&O), operates by verifying the power variation in the output on the DC bus, that is, requires only two sensors. By means of results obtained by computational simulations, the systems are evaluated and compared, considering the operation of the system without shading and partial shading. Considerando a utilização da energia oriunda de sistemas fotovoltaicos (PV), este trabalho apresenta um estudo comparativo do sistema PV tradicional com o sistema PV multi-string. O sistema tradicional é composto por três painéis PVs associados em série e ligados ao conversor elevador CC-CC tipo Boost. Para realizar a busca pelo ponto de máxima potência (MPP) é empregado o algoritmo tradicional Perturb & Observe (P&O). Por outro lado, os sistemas tradicionais podem sofrer influência de sombreamentos parciais, quando ocorre uma irradiação solar não uniforme sobre o arranjo PV, assim, este é comparado com um sistema multi-string, o qual é composto por três conversores CC-CC Boost, onde cada conversor elevador possui um único painel PV conectado na sua entrada, e a saída dos conversores são associadas em série e conectados a um barramento CC. No sistema multi-string foi empregada duas metodologias distintas para o rastreamento do MPP (MPPT), a primeira é denominada distribuído de simples variável (SV-P&O), a qual emprega o algoritmo P&O para cada conversor elevador, o qual opera verificando a variação de potência de cada painel PV, necessitando da leitura da tensão e corrente de saída de cada painel, ou seja, é necessário um total de seis sensores. Por outro lado, a segunda metodologia denominada controle granular multivariável (MV-P&O), opera verificando a variação de potência na saída no barramento CC, ou seja, requer o somente de dois sensores.
