Resumo: Aquaponics is a modality of food cultivation that involves the integration between aquaculture and hydroponics in water and nutrient recirculation systems, and advocates the total reuse of water. This research aimed to develop an automation prototype and a WEB platform for reading and management, with different types of sensing devices for aquaponics systems, to serve small and large producers of family agriculture and agro-industry. 273 questionnaires were applied, involving academics from the Federal Institute of Paraná and producers and the president of the COAFASO cooperative, to obtain sociodemographic data and the production and consumption of vegetables and fish to support the automation system, as well as the physical-chemical and microbiological characteristics ofthe lettuces produced, to ensure their safety. This study was approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Technology and the Federal Institute of Paraná. It was noted that 95.6% of the academics participated in the research and that 21% buy directly from the rural producer. It was identified that 56.8% consume fish once a week, 51% believe that consuming fish is healthy. It was found that 97% of vegetable producers make use of soil, 47.6% use the mixed production system (organic and conventional foods and 82.5% of producers grow lettuce. It was noted that 17.5% of the producers have some type of technology, however 96.1% showed great interest in obtaining some type of automation, among fishermen 100% raise their fish using the net-tank method, making use of water capture from rivers and lakes and 100% showed interest in obtaining some type of automation technology, it was observed that the automation system developed in this study, presented results that indicate the ideal temperature for the creation of Nile tilapia fish that was 25ºC during the experiment, and an average pH around 7.5 in the two test periods. The analyzed fish showed biomass gain (weight and size). The 20 seedlings planted of green and purple lettuce in the first period and the second period, presented weekly very satisfactory results emphasizing that there was an excellent growth of the root and the amount of foliage. The microbiological parameters of the lettuce samples were presented in accordance with theBrazilian legislation, guaranteeing their innocuousness. It is concluded that the integrated aquaponics automation systemdeveloped, proved to be efficient for monitoring and managing fish farming and lettuce cultivation, and can implement income and production, as well as the quality of life of the social actors in agriculture. family and agribusiness.
