Resumo: Maintenance processes are essential for increasing product availability, productivity and efficiency. In the last decades, maintenance has undergone evolutions in its approaches, moving from less reactive into more proactive characteristics, including the usage of c computerized systems to support in this context. An alternative arising from technologies under development from Industry 4.0 is Blockchain and smart contracts. Together, they bring together features such as security, reliability and transparency, acting as decentralized databases. This work proposes the application of blockchain technology in the monitoring of maintenance and product life processes, to be verified in an automotive industry application of heavy vehicles – trucks and buses. The adopted application scenario is the product life and maintenance follow-up. To achieve this objective, the methodological approach called Design Science Research (DSR) has been used, which covers the stages of problem identification, definition of expected results, development of the solution in the form of an artifact, its demonstration, evaluation and, finally, the communication of research results. Through interviews with stakeholders, the proposed system requirements have been consolidated and a model representing the related process have been built. Through an application script, the solution was presented and validated together to selected stakeholders, with good feedback and its applicability approved.
