The university, understood as an agent of regional development, has evolved its role over time to effectively meet the demands of society. Through its teaching, research and extension activities, its relationship with different stakeholders from civil society, the economy and public administration is associated with the specific needs of the region. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze the relations of the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR), considering the context in which it is inserted and its influence on regional development. The research is based on a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) according to the methodological guidelines of Centobelli, Cerchione and Esposito (2017), from which a portfolio of 22 articles with studies carried out in several national and international universities was selected. The analysis of these articles allowed us to identify and describe five categories of university relations, namely: University - Industry - Government (UIG); University - Industry/Enterprise (UI); University - Government (UG); University – City (UC) and; University – Society (US). Four categories of university influences on regional development were also identified, namely: Innovation; Knowledge; Sustainability and; Economy. In addition to the categories of relationships and influences, characteristics of the following university models were described: Humboldtian Model; Entrepreneurial University Model; Regional Innovation System University Model; Mode 2 e; Engaged University Model. Subsequently, a data collection instrument was developed, which can be applied at any university, to carry out document analysis. In view of this, data were collected from the UTFPR Management Report for the year 2019, as this is an official document, updated and available online. However, other documents mentioned in it and complementary to the information pointed out there were also consulted, as well as the digital platform Stela Experta. The research indicates that, despite the scientific publications of the last decade, it is still necessary to broaden the debate on the university's influence on regional development. At UTFPR, relationships need to be strengthened and expanded so that the results delivered to society increasingly promote regional development in a sustainable, comprehensive, effective way, and reaching out to populations, especially those most in need. Furthermore, it is necessary to improve the dissemination strategies of the results obtained so that its influence on regional development is better known and new projects are stimulated. And thus, increasingly strengthen the University as a teaching, research and extension institution of excellence, but also with characteristics of engagement and regional insertion. |
