Resumo: The COVID19 pandemic forced the adoption of social isolation measures worldwide, promoting the closure of educational institutions. With uncertainties regarding the duration of the distance period, the use of technologies was used for the remote continuation of classes on an emergency basis, in order to reduce the loss in the school year. The aim of this work was to evaluate the perceptions of basic education teachers regarding the use of technologies during emergency remote teaching, evaluating the teachers' profile and experience in the period, as well as the perspective on remote compared to presential teaching. To this end, an online questionnaire was available between May and June 2020. In total, 128 responses were obtained from primary school teachers from different Brazilian regions and with different degrees of professional experience. The analysis of the data suggests that, despite the difficulties, teachers are complying with the school calendar, but they report a partial efficiency of students in remote classes. Thus, it is suggested that the teaching objectives are being only partially achieved, probably due to the emergency nature of the situation. To improve the practice, it is necessary to update the professors professionally regarding the use of technologies, and greater investments in technological infrastructure (equipment and internet).
