Resumo: The emergence of new manufacturing technologies, it is necessary to increasingly reducing production costs, in view of greater market competitiveness. The use of aluminum in the kitchen is associated with the industrial revolution of the 20th century, which made household appliances lighter, more resistant to corrosion and with better aesthetics. Due to the ease of raw material obtaining and high thermal conductivity, aluminum is been used in several areas, including the production of cookware. The use of this metal allowed a faster and uniform cooking of food. In addition, aluminum cookware has low cost and lower consumption of cooking gas, with savings of up to 70%. The objective of the present work was to reduce the percentage of rejection and refuse to the nearest 5%, reducing more than 50% of production waste resulting from process failures in the industry. Through the PDCA cycle and after the rupture improvement, where a newer one, with better performance; replaced the old guillotine 5.71% aluminum rejection was reached. Thus resulting in considerable relative savings. When it comes to rework, its reduction reduces environmental pollution. Considering the number of employees per shift and operation, maintenance of machinery, number of parts produced, volume of raw materials and accessories, inputs such as energy and water; there is a monthly savings of up to R $ 32,520.00; and annual up to R $ 390,240.00. The investment for the new machine could been recovered in less than six months.
