Resumo: The growth in the use of software in the Electrical Engineering market has made courses in this area specialize. And also, use the software required by the market to train more prepared professionals. Therefore, the companies that develop these software are concerned with creating licenses and materials for didactics and teachers have the responsibility to define which program will be used. The present work presents methods of evaluation and selection of software for the educational scope, considering four software widely used in Electrical Engineering: Proteus, MatLab, AutoCAD and OrCAD. Various methodologies used for teaching these tools and the types of educational software were selected. This study used three methods: Banks, Davis-Williams and Oliveira and two Questionnaires: Nokelainen and Ssemugabi to be applied to software, with the objective of assisting teachers in choosing an appropriate method for choosing software in their discipline. Applying the software in the methods we came to the conclusion that the Davis-Williams method, which uses calculations, is more objective, even though it allows a choice of comparisons, the performed calculations allow an evaluation so that the method does not become flawed.
