Resumo: This research analyzes quality parameters for a standard project of the social program Brasil Sem Frestas - Guarapuava (BSF-GP) regarding thermal performance and the vertical sealing covering of small homes with plates made up of reused “packaging systems”. A synthesis of the literature with respect to sustainability and quality management is carried out. These concepts are applied in a case study realized in a project contemplated by the BSF-GP in a small house (with only two rooms) whose residents have low income. Initially, information about the social program was collected through an interview, questionnaire and contact with the local coordination. Subsequently, the 5S, PDCA Cycle and Project Script strategies were applied in order to quality management plan, encompassing the following related tools: Project Analytical Structure (PAS), Check List, Critical Path Method (CPM), Program Evaluation and Review Techinique (PERT) and Gantt Chart. The lack was observed of project management at the BSF-Gp and measures based on quality concepts were proposed to optimize the processes of its actions. The results indicated that the social program could be improved with an incorporation of the suggested quality strategies. Through simulations in the EnergyPlus software, it was proven that the reused material plate helps in thermal insulation, however with little significance. A panoramic and academic feedback about the project will be sent to the program's volunteers.
