This research discusses the theme of organizational communication in public administration, focusing on one of the boards of the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) in the city of Curitiba. The general objective was to analyze how the communication process between administrative departments impacts the performance of the servers. The specific objectives were intended to identify how the communication processes between the leader and his followers are established; how interdepartmental communication is established, and analyzing how improving internal communication can help improve the work of civil servants. Three focus of analysis were defined: communication between leader and followers; interdepartmental communication; and intradepartmental communication. In this sense, the research was carried out in two phases: first there was the application of a questionnaire to civil servants who did not work in leadership positions and, subsequently, interviews were conducted with civil servants working in management positions. From the data identified, it was possible to verify that there is a predominance in the use of informal communication between subordinates and their bosses and the use of formal channels in interdepartmental communication. The survey also identified suggestions aimed at improving communication processes, such as improving the organization of meetings, standardizing some forms of communication and intensifying feedbacks. In summary, in general, the institution’s communication is considered good by the research participants, but it is worth emphasizing the importance of the organization carrying out a strategic planning of its communication to achieve the objectives and assist in the exchange of information and improvement of the work environment job. |
