Tennis is a sport with a growing number of players in Brazil since 2001, especially between amateurs. This study goal is to evaluate the reopening of a tennis academy in the metropolitan area of Curitiba, which ended its activities in August 2019, showing possible income statement for a 5-year operation, as well as financial KPIs and investment analysis indexes. The information related to the administration of tennis academies were obtained in conversations with people related to this branch of activity. From some estimations, 3 scenarios were studied, being an optimistic, a real and a pessimistic for evaluating the investment. From the developed scenarios and their forecasts, it was possible to calculate financial KPIs and project evaluation indexes. Based on this information, it was checked that this investment only presents financial return in the optimistic scenario, being uncertain in the real one and unprofitable in the pessimistic one. As next steps, it is necessary to study the revenues from other services related to a tennis academy, like food and beverages selling, in order to verify the profitability of the real scenario |
