Resumo: In this work, the project and development of a solar distiller was carried out to recover water and reduce the weight of the effluent for the treatment and use of liquid waste generated in the chemical laboratories of UTFPR - Câmpus Ponta Grossa. The institution's Waste Management Program forms a considerable liability, causing high costs for the correct destination of this volume. In this context, solar energy is synonymous with sustainability, since it is ecologically and financially viable. The project was inexpensive, and its operation is simple. In the tests, to attest the efficiency of the distiller, NaCl solutions in different concentrations, of 20 g / L, 50 g / L and 70 g / L. Then, the possibility of concentrating the effluents was evaluated. The water recovered from this process can be used for various uses, and is not recommended for human consumption. The project's differential is the proposal for this type of recovery, an innovation, since projects involving solar distillation, as a rule, apply to the desalination of water for human consumption, according to the literature consulted. The project proved to be a viable alternative.
