Resumo: The presente work, entitled Ferns in the Area of Relevant Ecological Interest of Santa Helena (ARIE-SH), had as its maingoal to carry out a floristic survey in the cited conservation unit. The ARIE-SH is a conservation unit created by the Itaipu Binacional in 1980’s, on the banks of the Paraná river, on the border with Paraguay. The area has ca. 1400 ha of Seasonally Semideciduous Forest, in diverse stages of ecological succession. Botanical collections were carried out along the ARIE-SH since 2017. The sampleswere gathered and deposited in SHPR herbarium. The specimens were identified though relevant literature and by comparison with specimens provided by virtual herbaria. It was found 19 species belonging to 13 genera and nine families; an increase in 14species in relation to the conservation unit management plan. Morphological descriptions and comments are provided for each species, as well identification keys for families and genera with more than one taxon. Illustration made by ink are provided for most of the species.
