The methodology used was a literature review with a focus on the use of scientific articles, books, theses and dissertations, academic. Before the study noted that the photovoltaic solar power systems allow the transformation of solar energy into electrical energy in any place of the world, and autonomously. One of the applications that this technology has is the electrification of homes and buildings in the urban perimeter. This electrification leads to electrical autonomy, which is probably the most attractive characteristic for this type of installation. Solar photovoltaic installation with a properly sized and installed, it is possible to dispense completely or partially the supply network, the latter being the case in the building of the municipality of Curitiba, using the online system grid (connected to the network). With this, we see that, even for a city where the indices of solar radiation are not só high, the system is advantageous. Normally, the components pass through rigorous quality controls to ensure its reliability. No less important, and perhaps the most sought after characteristic of this type of installation is its ability to produce clean and renewable energy, and thus avoid a large quantity of pollutants are released into the atmosphere. Este trabalho apresenta uma investigação sobre a implantação de painéis fotovoltaicos na sede da prefeitura municipal de Curitiba. A metodologia utilizada foi uma revisão da literatura com foco no uso de artigos científicos, livros, teses e dissertações acadêmicas. Diante do estudo notou-se que os sistemas de energia solar fotovoltaica permitem a transformação da energia solar em energia elétrica em qualquer lugar do mundo e de forma autônoma. Uma das aplicações que essa tecnologia tem é a eletrificação de residências e edifícios no perímetro urbano. Essa eletrificação leva a autonomia elétrica, que provavelmente seja a característica mais atraente nesse tipo de instalação. Com uma instalação solar fotovoltaica adequadamente dimensionada e instalada, é possível dispensar completamente ou parcialmente o fornecimento da rede, sendo este último caso o do prédio da prefeitura de Curitiba, utilizando-se do sistema on-grid (conectado à rede). Com isso, vemos que, mesmo para uma cidade onde os índices de radiação solar não são tão altos, o sistema é vantajoso. Normalmente, os componentes passam por rigorosos controles de qualidade para garantir sua confiabilidade.
