Resumo: Teleworking or remote work is being more widely used recently due to the phenomenon of acceleration or forced implementation arising from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. In this context, this study aimed to identify the aspects mentioned in the literature that appear present in the practice of teleworkers and then verify, through the application of a questionnaire, which impacts on the professional and personal spheres of individuals. The work methodology was based on a literature review, content analysis and a survey questionnaire. Eight dimensions present in the literature on telework were listed, namely: the relationship between remote work and productivity; impacts of remote work for employees; relationship of remote work with wellbeing, stress and other physical and emotional implications; intensification and extension of work; exercise of Psychological Disengagement (PD) for wellbeing; interaction with peers, collaboration and knowledge sharing; impacts on the promotion of workers; and, conditions for telework (physical, technological and spatial). The study also took into account the answers to the questionnaire applied to professionals in the automotive industry, tool industry, auditing, asset management and offices in general. These answers served as a basis for analyzing and comparing the individuals' practical experience and the literature. Coherent and divergent aspects of the literature were found, which were discussed throughout the text. Finally, the work is concluded by listing the different impacts on the worklife balance and also discussing specific points of view for the particular group interviewed, reporting the trends obtained regarding the most productive work method for the respective group according to the analysis of their own statements. The study also presents further details and discussions on the dimensions analyzed and their impacts on the lives of professionals, information that may be of interest to managers to better understand the effects of teleworking on their teams.
