In this sense, the work in question, in general, highlighted the historical and legal aspects, focused on Environmental Education as content in the last decades in the educational context, punctuating the relevant indications of being known by the teacher of regular education, in the sense of developing during the teaching and learning process has a favorable attitude towards the social and environmental learning of its students. Thus, for a better understanding of the subject, this study adopted bibliographic research, which in turn, addresses information related to Environmental Education within Elementary School, published in articles, monographs and dissertations. A presente pesquisa visa apresentar algumas discussões a respeito da Educação Ambiental, enquanto conteúdo dentro do Ensino Fundamental. Nesse sentido, o trabalho em questão, ressaltou de forma geral, os aspectos históricos e legais, voltados a Educação Ambiental enquanto conteúdo nas últimas décadas no contexto educacional, pontuando os indicativos relevantes de serem conhecidos pelo professor do ensino regular, no sentindo de desenvolver durante o processo de ensino e aprendizagem uma postura favorável ao aprendizado socioambiental de seus alunos.
