Resumo: In contemporary society, the media are present in all sectors of social life, including education. As a result, the school took on new challenges, including making students, critical and aware of the use of media. In this way, the present work deals with the influence of advertisements on social behavior and its impacts on children and adolescents. Its scope is the development of reading and interpretation teaching practices based on the discursive advertising genre. Part of the problem of how to use advertising in the critical development process of the student. The study was of an exploratory nature and, as a methodological procedure, data collection and bibliographic research in books, articles, and texts from digital archives of authors that support the theme were adopted. As a result of this work, five pedagogical activities were proposed involving the use of the discursive advertising genre for Elementary School Students – Early Years. It is hoped that this study will serve as a basis to support teaching practice in the teaching and analysis of media languages.
