Humanity has been developing buildings since the beginning of time, being responsible for high generation of by-products and waste, in addition to high consumption of natural resources. The population and economic growth in Brazil affects the availability of these resources, requiring changes in the waste management system generated in order to make it more sustainable. In this context, the present study performed the diagnosis of the management processes of construction waste (CW) generated in the city of Francisco Beltrão - PR, through the analysis and identification of the municipal legislation and the processes of generation, collection, transport, treatment and disposal of CCW. The analysis of the municipal legislation had as main guidelines the CONAMA Resolution nº 307/2004 and the National Solid Waste Policy, Federal Law nº 12.305/2010. The evaluations of the processes of generation, collection, transport, treatment, and disposal of CW were done in two stages. In the first, there was the identification and analysis in loco of the CW generating sources. In the second, there was the identification and analysis of the collection/transportation, overflow, sorting and waste destination processes. In the analysis of the municipal legislation, it was possible to identify some deficiencies, especially in the Integrated Management Plan of Solid Waste (IMPSW) of the municipality. The process of waste segregation at the generating source is mostly inadequate. Four companies do the collection/transportation, but only one has an environmental license for the transshipment, sorting and recycling of CW. Thus, it was possible to identify that the management of solid waste from civil construction in the municipality still requires a series of improvements. However, it has been evolving over time. A greater participation of the municipal government in this adaptation process is necessary. |
