Resumo: The present work consists of a technical and economic comparative analysis of different foundation solutions from a sizing and budget, looking for the most suitable one for a building located in Toledo-PR. The possible solutions approached for the building were: Fluid-free excavated (FFE) pile, continuous flight auger (CFA) piles, precast concrete (PC) piles, metallic and drilled caisson. The research seeks to show the importance of adequate geotechnical study to design the foundation since professionals abdicate this seeking to save time and money. The design was performed with the semi-empirical formulations of Aoki-Velloso and Décourt Quaresma from soil parameters. The technical analysis considered issues such as productivity, quality control of elements and suitability with performance tests. The economic analysis was carried out from a budget study of dimensioned foundation solutions, using analytical compositions of SINAPI service and input costs provided by SINAPI and SICRO. The metallic pile and the pipe were considered unfeasible in the dimensioning stage. The total cost for the execution of each solution was R$ 410 thousand for the FFE pile, R$ 628 thousand for the CFA pile and R$ 330 thousand for the PC pile. CFA had the highest productivity among the options, with an estimated time for execute of 16 days, the FFA in 18 days, and the PC in 47 days. For the executive process, the FFA showed less chance of presenting setbacks for this building. The PC pile proved to be the best option in terms of quality control, it distinguished itself by having part of the equipment already mobilized to carry out the dynamic loading test and the elements manufactured with quality control. Therefore, based on the analysis, the PC pile proved to be the best option for the studied building, and presented a great technical and economic potential outside urban centers. A variation between the costs of the solutions showed that it is possible to save with a complete geotechnical study. The analysis of the variation of soil characteristics brought results that demonstrate the need to carry out geotechnical studies, which can bring security and possible money saving.
