Resumo: It is known that oral verbal language development is a prerequisite for literacy. One way to understand and evaluate situations that may have implications for language acquisition and the use of the phonic method is to conduct an interdisciplinary study. In this sense, the focus on the child's phonoarticulatory structures is essential, since the phonic method works with sounds that correspond to letters, as opposed to the beabá method. Based on this, this research proposes to verify the phonoarticulatory development of children at the beginning of preschool (4 to 5 years old) and elementary school (1st grade) and its evolution throughout the school year, by means of a quantitative and partially longitudinal study, divided into phases. The research was carried out in all schools of the municipality located in western Paraná, with 899 students, students of pre school 1, 2, and first year of elementary school. The collection was done individually and held in a special room with no influence from other sounds. The tests performed for data collection are composed of batteries of drawings, whose names the students had to pronounce. The test is composed of a set of words whose objective is to analyze all the phonemes of Brazilian Portuguese. The oral production test data is classified as: pronunciation within the phonological pattern of the language (matched/socio-linguistic variation), outside the pattern (did not match) or did not recognize. After analysis, the words "money", "cloud" and "clown" were selected for analysis because they presented a high number of deviations among the 3 grades surveyed, compared to other words in the test. Among the other words in the test, deviations were concentrated in pre 1 and pre2. It is possible to observe that the amount of deviations in pronunciations decreases with advancing age.
