In the context of civil construction, concepts of efficient buildings are gaining greater credibility, mainly because they consume a large amount of energy. It is estimated that in Brazil, 51% of electricity is required by buildings. In addition, its industry impacts the entire production chain, from the extraction of its inputs, to the social relations that determine the occupation of space, real estate studies and the disposal of its residues. As a result, in 1984 and 1985 the first Brazilian programs aimed at energy efficiency emerged, the Brazilian Labeling Program (PBE) and the National Electric Energy Conservation Program (PROCEL). In which, they were established in order to promote the efficient use of energy in various aspects of the economy, including buildings. In this context, this research aims to assess the level of energy efficiency of an existing single-family building in the city of Toledo/PR, following the parameters determined by PBE Edifica. The Technical Quality Regulation for the Energy Efficiency Level of Residential Buildings (RTQ-R) was used for verification, which qualifies the thermo-energy performance of three building systems: the envelope, water heating and bonuses. After evaluating the current state of the residence under study, it was observed that it presents level D of efficiency, which is one of the worst and lowest according to the RTQ-R. In order to improve this index, improvements were then suggested, easy to be implemented, and the building was reevaluated. Found for energy efficiency level B residence. Therefore, if an eventual renovation is carried out, taking into account the suggested improvement proposals, the energy efficiency of the building can improve. Consequently, the use of electrical energy is reduced and the quality of the built environment improves. No atual cenário mundial em que há grande demanda de operação por meio do uso de energia, a busca por medidas de eficiência energética vem ganhando cada vez mais relevância. No contexto da construção civil, conceitos de edificações eficientes vem ganhando maior credibilidade, principalmente pelo fato delas consumirem grande quantidade de energia. Estima-se que no Brasil, 51% da eletricidade é demandada pelas construções. Além disso, sua indústria provoca impactos em toda cadeia produtiva, desde a extração de seus insumos, até nas relações sociais que determinam a ocupação do espaço, estudos imobiliários e a deposição dos seus resíduos. Diante disso, em 1984 e 1985 surgiram os primeiros programas brasileiros voltados à eficiência energética, o Programa Brasileiro de Etiquetagem (PBE) e o Programa Nacional de Conservação de Energia Elétrica (PROCEL). Nos quais, foram estabelecidos com a finalidade de promover o uso eficiente de energia em várias vertentes da economia, dentre estas, as edificações. Sob esse contexto, a presente pesquisa possui o intuito de avaliar o nível de eficiência energética de uma edificação unifamiliar já existente na cidade de Toledo/PR, seguindo os parâmetros determinados pelo PBE Edifica. Utilizou-se para a verificação, o Regulamento Técnico da Qualidade para o Nível de Eficiência Energética de Edificações Residenciais (RTQR), no qual qualifica o desempenho termo energético de três sistemas da edificação: a envoltória, o aquecimento de água e as bonificações. Após a avaliação do atual estado da residência objeto de estudo, observou-se que ela apresenta nível D de eficiência, que é um dos piores e mais baixos conforme o RTQ-R. Visando melhorar esse índice, em seguida sugeriu-se melhorias, fáceis de serem implementadas, e reavaliou-se a edificação. Encontrou-se para a residência nível B de eficiência energética. Portanto, se uma eventual reforma for realizada, levando em consideração as propostas de melhorias sugeridas, a eficiência energética da edificação pode melhorar.
