Resumo: This paper finds itself within syntax studies about language acquisition, specifically on the category of first-person subject pronouns from the nominative case. The studies are based on the Generativism Grammar, evoking the assumptions this theory presents and also connecting the continuist hypothesis. References as Grolla (2006), Grolla and Figueiredo Silva (2014), Kato (1999; 2001), Lopes (1999: 2001; 2004; 2019), Lyons (1979), Pohlmann-Bulla (2009; 2013), were used, among others.T he proposition that propels this research involves the reason why pronouns appear later on language productions, even when its usability and phonetics are considered more common and easier. The methodology was constituted by the data analysis of two children and it’s been supported in categories selected by this study, including items commonly used in productions: as the usage of null subjects, and of referential expressions, which substitute pronominal form. Consonant to that, the speech used by adults towards the children was also analyzed, to fully examine the input usage. As a result of this research, it was verified that pronouns acquisition perpasses throughout stages, as brought by Lopes (2004) on the grammatical number feature acquisition. First of all, there’s activation of the default value, that corresponds to the null subject or the referential expression, accompanied by the verb conjugated on the third person, followed by oscillation between the usage of pronominal form and their substitutes strategies, and, lastly, the parameters marcation occur, as it happens with the language value being acquired.
