The use of computer programs contributes to the way of planning, designing, dimensioning, executing and managing works. In the area of structural projects, one example is the software CAD / TQS, which has great applicability in national companies, assisting in the dimensioning, detailing and presentation of reinforced concrete projects. However, as complete as they are, there is no program that is at the stage of adequately equating all the variables present in a project, therefore, they are still dependent on the human factor. One of the reasons for this dependency is the critical interpretation of the results and validation with the regulatory standards. Therefore, it is of interest to identify the limitations of the program so that the professional, when using the program, can do it properly. It is believed that among the stages of the processing of a building, the detailing of the structural elements can present interesting results because it presents variations in the reinforcement configurations. Therefore, the objective of this article is to explore the structural design stage, which covers the details of reinforced concrete beams automatically generated by the CAD / TQS program, bringing comparisons with that specified in the Brazilian standard ABNT NBR 6118 (2014), which governs the dimensioning and detailing of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures. The methodology consists of launching the structural design in the CAD / TQS software, configuring the design and detailing criteria so that they are as close as possible to NBR 6118:2014, analyzing five different situations of the same beam, changing its characteristics to create new detailing cases. And, evaluating what the program provides with what is presented in the standard. In general, the program presented results that are consistent with that presented in the standard, there were situations that the standard was not so clear and the program adopted criteria similar to those of other authors, however it demonstrated its weakness in the choice of the most practical configuration for execution. Examples of this are the anchoring with hook on the end supports, the spacing of the transverse reinforcements and the decaling of the longitudinal reinforcement. A introdução de novas tecnologias na construção civil está interligada com os avanços na área da informática. O uso de programas computacionais contribui na maneira de planejar, projetar, dimensionar, executar e gerenciar obras. Na área de projetos estruturais, um dos exemplos é o programa computacional CAD/TQS, que possui grande aplicabilidade em empresas nacionais, auxiliando no dimensionamento, detalhamento e apresentação de projetos em concreto armado. Entretanto, por mais completos que sejam, nenhum programa está no estágio de equacionar adequadamente todas as variáveis presentes em um projeto, sendo assim, ainda são dependentes do fator humano. Um dos motivos dessa dependência é a interpretação crítica dos resultados e a conferência com as normas regulamentadoras. Portanto, é de interesse identificar os critérios empregados pelos programas computacionais e analisar possíveis limitações para que o profissional, ao fazer uso do programa, possa fazê-lo de maneira adequada. Acredita-se que entre as etapas do processamento de uma edificação, o detalhamento dos elementos estruturais pode apresentar resultados interessantes por apresentar variações nas configurações das armaduras. Logo, o objetivo desse trabalho está em explorar a etapa do projeto estrutural, que abrange os detalhamentos de vigas em concreto armado gerados automaticamente pelo programa CAD/TQS, trazendo comparativos com o especificado na norma brasileira ABNT NBR 6118 (2014), que rege o dimensionamento e o detalhamento de estruturas de concreto armado e protendido. A metodologia consiste em lançar o projeto estrutural no software CAD/TQS configurando os critérios de dimensionamento e detalhamento para que se aproximem ao máximo com a NBR 6118:2014, analisando quatro casos de diferentes situações de uma mesma viga, alterando as suas características para criar novos casos de detalhamento, e avaliando o que o programa fornece com o que a referida norma preconiza. De maneira geral, o programa apresentou resultados condizentes com o apresentado na norma, existiram situações que a norma não era tão esclarecedora e o programa adotou critérios semelhantes aos de outros autores, entretanto demonstrou ter fragilidade na escolha da configuração mais prática para execução.
