Análise da solda do tubo de aço SAE 4130 de um veículo tipo baja SAE realizada pelos processos MAG e TIG

The purpose of this work is to study the welding in the steel SAE4130, performed of the MAG (Gas Metal Arc Welding) welding process, with the addition metal being AWS A5.18 ER 70 S - 6 low - carbon steel wire with a diameter of 1,2mm and the TIG (TunGsten Inert Gas) process, with the addition metal...

Resumo: The purpose of this work is to study the welding in the steel SAE4130, performed of the MAG (Gas Metal Arc Welding) welding process, with the addition metal being AWS A5.18 ER 70 S - 6 low - carbon steel wire with a diameter of 1,2mm and the TIG (TunGsten Inert Gas) process, with the addition metal being an AWS ER 316L stainless steel dipstick with a diameter of 1.6 mm, performing the Vickers microhardness tests and macrography test, comparing and analyzing the results obtained in order to choose the best result process for welding the chassis structure of a mini-SAE type vehicle of the Procobaja team. For realization the Vickers microhardness test, the standard ASTM E92 was followed, the TIG obtained a microhardness average of 525.86 HV0,3 and a standard deviation of 30.30, while the MAG obtained a mean of 305.28 HV0,3, and a standard deviation of 65.19. From the image obtained in the macrography and the use of a CAD software, the geometric measurements were calculated, obtaining a dilution of 66.95% in the TIG sample and 60.87% in the MAG sample, as for the penetration, it occurred totally in the TIG and in part in MAG. After the analysis, the best process was choose to used in the car.
