This work describes the project process of a vacuum tube audio compressor, as well as the implementation of its prototype. The main premise in the compressor design is to adopt vacuum tubes for the audio signal compression. In order to substantiate the project, a bibliographic review was carried out and presented, encompassing multiple concepts pertinent to audio engineering. After the compressor parameters were defined, computer simulations were performed for circuit validation, which allowed predicting the circuit operation and facilitated the prototype implementation, as well as the verification of its operation. Finally, the qualitative and quantitative results of the prototype are presented, confirming the operation expected from the design stage. |
