To meet this proposal, the research presents an overview of the theoretical assumptions of Sociolinguistics, bringing the path from the research carried out in the area to discussions on social valuation and the judgment of variants, and how this can reflect on the formation of the student and in school practice. The results point to the importance of a teaching manner that raises awareness of linguistic diversity, anchored in the theoretical perspectives of the Pedagogy of Linguistic Variation (FARACO; ZILLES, 2015 (org.), Culturally Sensitive Pedagogy and Bidialectal Education (BORTONI-RICARDO, 2004; BORTONI-RICARDO; DE SOUSA, 2008), making Portuguese Language classes the appropriate place for students to expand their knowledge of the language and its diversity, deconstructing the common sense view that classes in this discipline focus only on grammar, or, in the teaching of a single language variety, the cultured or standard norm. Este trabalho constitui-se de pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a sociolinguística e o trabalho com a variação linguística na escola. Para atender a essa proposta, a pesquisa apresenta um panorama geral sobre os pressupostos teóricos da sociolinguística, trazendo o percurso desde as pesquisas desenvolvidas na área até discussões sobre a valoração social e o julgamento de variantes, e como isso pode refletir na formação do aluno e na prática escolar. Os resultados apontam para a importância de um ensino que conscientize sobre a diversidade linguística, ancorado este nas perspectivas teóricas da Pedagogia da Variação Linguística (FARACO; ZILLES, 2015 (org.), Pedagogia Culturalmente Sensível e Educação Bidialetal (BORTONI-RICARDO, 2004; BORTONI-RICARDO; DE SOUSA, 2008), tornando as aulas de Língua Portuguesa o local adequado para o aluno ampliar seus conhecimentos sobre a língua e sua diversidade, descontruindo a visão do senso comum de que as aulas, nessa disciplina, se concentram apenas em gramática, ou ainda, no ensino de uma única variedade de língua, a norma culta ou padrão. 2022-03-30T14:08:33Z 2022-03-30T14:08:33Z 2021-08-19 bachelorThesis ANDRADE, Vanessa de.
