It demonstrates the difficulties encountered by companies in the use of Business Intelligence software, and the relevance of the data obtained on a daytoday basis through the available tools that directly influence decisionmaking. Through a qualitative research, data was collected on the use of Business Intelligence software in ten companies in the region of Ponta Grossa - PR, and with the data treated, a comparative analysis is carried out with the research presented in the text, which refers to the situation of companies in Brazil in relation to other countries, when it comes to the use of Business Intelligence tools. It is understood that even companies that do not use this technology, see it as something of paramount importance for their growth and development, but just implementing them, without providing any type of training for the team, will result in a lack of clarity in the data information obtained and, therefore, erroneous decisionmaking, thus not being possible to fully enjoy the resources offered by this tool. In the end, it is concluded that the implementation of Business Intelligence is possible and positively helps in any size and type of company, as long as there is preparation for implementation and qualification of the users of this system. Este trabalho consiste em uma abordagem do que se entende por Business Intelligence, apresentando as principais ferramentas e vantagens na implementação deste sistema, bem como a atual situação das empresas na região de Ponta Grossa - PR, comparando-as a outras empresas do Brasil. Demonstra-se as dificuldades encontradas pelas empresas no uso dos softwares de Business Intelligence, e a relevância dos dados obtidos no dia-a-dia através das ferramentas disponíveis que influenciam diretamente nas tomadas de decisões. Por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa, foi levantado dados de como está o uso de softwares de Business Intelligence em dez empresas da região de Ponta Grossa - PR, e com os dados tratados, realiza-se uma análise comparativa com a pesquisa apresentada no texto, que se refere a situação das empresas do Brasil em relação a outros países, quando se trata do uso de ferramentas de Business Intelligence. Entende-se que mesmo empresas que não utilizam esta tecnologia, a vêem como algo de suma importância para seu crescimento e desenvolvimento, porém apenas implementá-las, sem disponibilizar algum tipo de treinamento para a equipe, resultará na falta de clareza nas informações dos dados obtidos e portanto, tomadas de decisões errôneas, não sendo possível assim usufruir de maneira completa os recursos oferecidos por esta ferramenta.
